Late night thoughts...

Played the last night of the musical 'A Chorus Line' and it went pretty well. Not that that's particularly interesting, but you must understand it's made me tired! Yet I'm not going to bed... isn't it weird how you can be so tired, but still, at the age of 21, refuse to go to sleep as if you were 8 again? Ah well, now's a perfect opportunity for:

Bible Time
So here's my interesting snippet for today from my struggle to read and understand the bible:

(Adam and Eve have just been booted out of the Garden of Eden for being naughty and eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge and God doesn't want them back in...)

Genesis 3.24 - 'Then at the east side of the garden he put living creatures and a flaming sword which turned in all directions. This was to keep anyone from coming near the tree that gives life.'

What a bizarre image - a flaming sword flying about all over the place! Like something right out of Lord of the Rings, seems so out of place in the Christian holy book. I wonder how literal the translation "the tree that gives life" is from the original Hebrew... it's certainly quite a fitting description in a metaphorical sense, due to the fact it's supposed to be the origin of mankind's sin and knowledge.
